Uganda: SPY organisation in trouble!!!

An investigation by an American human rights organization, the International relief and Human rights initiative (IRHRI) concluded that Benjamin Rutabana was arrested on his arrival in Uganda by the CMI, the military intelligence service responsible for him. Reportedly held incommunicado since then. IRHRI has decided to file a complaint with a judge.

Would this be a new hope for the family of Benjamin Rutabana? The Rwandan singer and opponent has been missing since September 2019 while in Uganda and trying to join the RNC, based in northeastern DRC. An investigation by an American human rights organization, the International relief and Human rights initiative (IRHRI) concluded that Ben Rutabana was arrested on his arrival in Uganda by the MCI, the military intelligence service responsible for him. Reportedly held incommunicado since then.

She decided to file a complaint with a judge who demands that the Rwandan opponent be brought to justice. So far, relatives of Ben Rutabana have favored a disappearance linked to internal friction in the Rwandan rebel group. When he disappears, the Rwandan opponent is one of the main executives of the Rwandan National Congress, the RNC, whom Kigali considers to be a terrorist organization.

He was then on the border with Uganda and the neighboring DRC, where he was to join fighters from his organization. At the time, he was cold with the head of the RNC, KayumbaNyamwasa. Rutabana’s family then accuses him of being responsible for this disappearance, relatives of Nyamwasa point the finger at Rwanda, who protests.

This time, the ongoing legal proceedings in Uganda open a new avenue. Based on the investigation by the International relief and Human rights initiative, a Ugandan judge demanded security services to present Ben Rutabana before the High Court of Justice in Kampala on February 19, 2008, to date.

Another attempt was made last Thursday. This time, several of these services came forward to say that Ben Rutabana was not in their hands, with the notable exception of the MCI, the Ugandan military intelligence service, accused of having arrested the Rwandan opponent in September 2019 . Judge Esta Nambayo therefore issued a new injunction to those absent. They must appear before the High Court of Kampala this Thursday, March 5 in the morning.
